Abilene Engagement Session | Buffalo Gap TX | Devan + Josh
This engagement session in Buffalo Gap, TX (right outside of Abilene) was absolutely spectacular. We ventured out to Buffalo Gap because we wanted more trees than good ole Abilene usually has to offer. Devan and Josh were so carefree and fun during our session, and looked absolutely beautiful in the golden light.
As you scroll down, it’s easy to see how much fun these two have with each other. They were laughing so much, but were also sweet and romantic. I knew we would get along just fine when Devan started talking about Grey’s Anatomy. It was confirmed when I asked them what they like to do for fun, and they both busted out in laughter and Devan yelled, “Drink!” Yep. We can definitely be friends. I love engagement sessions so much because I feel like I really get to know a couple. I can see how they click with each other and learn about the uniqueness of their relationship, all while third-wheeling and capturing their delightful personalities. Meeting people like Devan and Josh remind me why I got into this business in the first place. Sure, I love getting to create art for a living. But mostly, I love building relationships. I love getting to make new friends and I feel so honored to take a part of their big life events. There are not many opportunities where you get to be a part of so much joy and love SO OFTEN.
We then went over to Perini Ranch Steakhouse (shh…don’t tell anyone), because the landscape they have there is so beautiful and the sun was hitting it just right. There was gorgeous greenery and lights, while being next to a beautiful tall grass field. Devan and Josh are the best for conquering all the potential snake fears for me and my camera. Let’s be real, I should probably add a small waiver in with my contract if I continue to shoot in these West Texas areas. It’s all worth it though, right??? Devan and Josh, it was so fun getting to hang out with you for just a couple of hours, I could only imagine how fun your big day will be in Austin this upcoming May! Congrats!!
