There is so much to say about this beautiful engagement session in this gorgeous ranch in Abilene, TX. I don’t get creeks or cliffs or even water very often in Abilene, so this private property of theirs was an absolute dream. I can’t wait for the wedding to be right here in October!

I arrived to the ranch early, because before this session I hadn’t gotten the chance to meet Jessica and Troy yet. After doing photography along with another job for so long, I’m so grateful to now have the time and energy to really devote to my clients and just get to know them better. So we hung out for a little bit before the shoot and just talked about all the wedding things that are coming up for them. They are honestly such a chill and relaxed couple, with so much in common. Photographing them was a piece of cake because they immediately just started interacting so naturally and lovingly with one another.

Whenever I shoot a couple, I try to capture a feeling. It usually just vibes off of whoever I’m shooting — it might be fun and exciting, sweet and romantic…each couple is different (which makes this job all the more fun). So when I was shooting Jessica and Troy in their beautiful landscape, I felt comfort. I felt comfort being around them, but mostly I felt comfort between them. The way they danced or held each other. It felt like both of them found so much peace in the other’s presence, and it was so special. I hope you can feel that comfort as you look through some of the moments I captured.
