There aren’t enough words to express how much I look up to the Lawrence family. Austin is the preacher of the church I go to in Abilene TX, and I’m constantly humbled and inspired by him and his wife, Katherine. It’s evident the way they both strive to find truth and proclaim the Gospel. I loved getting the chance to give back to them with these photographs they will get to keep forever!

Katherine had explained to me that she wanted more of a “lifestyle” session, and it didn’t have to be so “posed”. This. Is. My. JAM. I am all about the authentic moments! So I got to mold into the background and simply capture their family as they are. I loved getting to watch Bea (Elizabeth, middle child) play ALL OVER the place. She loved to climb, run, and throw grass around. I watched Grace go down the slide SEVERAL times, each time more fun than the last. I also got to watch her deep fascination and curiosity with the ducks, legit inspired by her wonder. I also had my own fascination with the youngest (Jones) and his blue eyes! They are MESMERIZING. And most of all, I just got to see the way Austin and Katherine love their children and each other so patiently and so deeply. They do the same thing with everyone that comes into the church, and are constantly vulnerable and pouring themselves into the sole purpose of making Christ’s name known. Needless to say, I look up to them quite a bit and it was an honor to be a part of their lives in this way.

I truly find purpose in what I do as a photographer. It’s more than just pictures to me. I’m so grateful for the opportunities to enter into other’s lives on a more intimate level and just tell their stories. If I ever stop seeing it in this light, I pray that it will be taken away from me.
