I’m so happy to share this engagement session at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve with you guys. Shelby and Ryan are the chillest people ever, and I loved spending time with them!! As soon as Shelby texted me saying they arrived, I looked over and just laughed because they were not only driving the same car I drive, but Shelby was wearing a sweater that looked freaking identical to the one I was wearing! Obviously, I already love these people.
My number one motivation in every photoshoot/wedding/elopement/etc. is to capture emotion. I want my couples to go back through the photos and FEEL something. I want them to remember how they feel about each other, remember the climate of that day, the feeling of their arms wrapped around one another… This is why I feel photos are such a huge gift. This life slips right through our fingertips, and when we have something that can bring us back to a moment…what is worth more than that? As I look through the photos of this engagement session, I feel so much joy. Shelby was full of laughter, but even in the more romantic shots where they’re just cuddled up as close as can be, I feel joy. A quiet, subtle, less obvious joy. These two have been together for six years if I remember correctly, and there’s this sureness they have with one another. A sureness that they are stronger together than apart. They reminded me so much of me and my husband in the way they goof around, and have the best taste in binge-worthy TV shows. I’m so thankful to meet others and to witness such deep connections through this work. Their wedding in the mountains of Terlingua cannot come soon enough!
If you’re looking for someone to capture your love, I am here for it!! I’m seriously so honored to capture such beautiful connections. Hit me up!!
