Ok I honestly, have so much to say about Ashlynn and Aarons wedding at The Ballroom at I Street in Bentonville, Arkansas. It was the best day, and I’m feeling the pressure because how in the heck am I going to put his day in words?? I guess I will try, but please rely on the photos.
Okay SO for one, Ashlynn and Aaron are the sweetest couple. Aaron is full of jokes only a choir boy would make, and Ashlynn snort laughs, and it makes me SO happy. Their wedding day was the day after this crazy insane cold front, and we were worried for a little bit but it turned out to be the most BEAUTIFUL DAY. Seriously the day before the wedding was windy and cloudy and freezing as heck, but when it came to November 10th, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky and the air was cool and crisp. The Ballroom at I Street is such a pretty venue in Bentonville, with super minimalistic vibes, and all the white walls and natural lighting that you could ever dream of.
After Ashlynn got her dress on, and all the girls basically cried over her beauty, it was time for the first looks. It was her and her dad first. I had him stand right outside the venue, facing the opposite direction. When she tapped his shoulder, you could tell her dad was taking it all and and trying (but failing) to hold in all the emotions. It was so so special. I can’t really even fathom what this moment might be like for dads. You could tell that he was so incredibly proud of the woman that stood before him.
OK THEN it was time for the first look between the bride and groom. They wanted to read their letters without seeing each other, so we had them separated by the an awesome, modern brick wall. Emotions started to well up as they held hands (only for a little bit because tears had to be wiped away), and they were reading the other’s words. After reading the letters, they took a deep breath, and Ashlynn tapped on Aarons shoulder. He turned around, and his reaction was PRICELSS. First it was more of a “HOLY COW” shock, which then morphed into complete awe. It was funny and touching and I can’t stop smiling as I’m writing this! They then had a moment together, and admired the way everything came together for their big day.
The ceremony was so perfect. The sun was setting right over them, and the officiant talked about the choir boy who tricked the pretty girl into a date. They took communion, and the sun shone right through the greenery wall, and I seriously just felt God’s presence over these two as they committed to each other. The rest of the evening was so fun. They had pizza and wings, which I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited or satisfied in regards to wedding food haha. The dances took place, and once again, Ashlynn’s dad cried out of pride and love and Aaron’s mom laughed and held her son tight.
But then…the best thing in the world happened. Yes. THE BEST. I remember when Ashlynn inquired with me and told me Aaron had “the voice of an angel”, but I didn’t expect to get to hear it! That’s right. Aaron broke out in a song for his beloved wife singing the classic, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You”. YEP! I LOVE YOU BABY AND IF IT’S QUITE ALRIGHT…Is anyone else dying over this and also thinking of Heath Ledger in 10 Things I Hate About You?? It was perfect, and I’m dead.
