AHH I have so much to say about this cloudy engagement session in Abilene! Lexi and Tanner have been long distance for their whole time at college, so 3 and a half years now, and I FEEL for them! Jake and I were long distance for two years and it was the best, but also the worst. So scheduling this session was already difficult, because we were coordinating when Tanner will be in town and also trying to not get in the way of Lexi’s graduation (CONGRATS BB). And then…we saw the storm coming in. Like BIG STORM. So we decided to do our engagement session a little later in the morning that day, but right before the storm was going to hit, and just prayed haha. And everything aligned perfectly! It was cloudy, which was the best thing we could’ve asked for because this view usually doesn’t coordinate well with the sun. It was windy and fun and cold, but these two pulled over the side of the road with me with some slight concerns, but overall trust (lol Tanner). Lexi is from Colorado and wanted some kind of beautiful view in the midst of Abilene, so this spot was the best option out there.
I love how well these two coordinated their outfits and revealed their personalities in the shoot. Tanner was apparently super nervous, because he “hates taking pictures”. Lexi texted me a couple days before and said he asked her if I was going to help them, because they’re supposedly so bad at it haha! But we just had a super fun time, and I directed them in all the silly ways that get genuine reactions out of my couples, and it was a freaking blast! These sessions always go the best when the couple doesn’t take life too seriously and isn’t afraid to act or look stupid 😉 Also, kudos to them for being brave and just hanging out with me in the middle of the street! A car came only once, and we were fast so no injuries to report. Take a look at how my time with them unfolded!
While you’re here, take a look at the other couple sessions I’ve recently done!
