Deep Ellum, Dallas Engagement Session | Merit Coffee | Laura + Zach

OH MY GOODNESS, so many words for this Deep Ellum, Dallas engagement session. If you have not been to this area, you are seriously missing out. I’m not much of a city person (I’d take outdoor fields and lakes over tall buildings any day), but this area had me inspired. It’s so updated and has the most aesthetic urban feels ever! Laura and Zach have become some of my new favorite people, and I am seriously so in love with the photos that came out from this session. We started things off at Merit Coffee in Deep Ellum, which is a new coffee shop with the best modern and open space vibes. These two cuties love coffee, so it was the perfect way to kick things off. Zach drank his coffee a little too quickly, if you ask me, so I really only got one shot of their mugs actually full. We sat outside and enjoyed the warm, cloudy weather while they chugged away at their hot drinks. Zach has the ability to make Laura laugh so much, and it was my favorite thing. Then, we strolled around the city and enjoyed the urban life. We stopped at a pie shop where these two love birds ate delicious pie in front of a very colorful wall. Zach was a little more cooperative after his stomach was full of the yummy dessert, haha. Now, are you ready for the best part of the shoot? We came back to the Merit Coffee area, because I was so in love with the white buildings and orange accents. While we were goofing around and taking cute photos, this woman comes running by and says, “Do you want pictures with my dog? She matches your dress!” UM, WHAT? Yes, yes we do. It was a sweet golden doodle puppy named Remi, and she was the star of the show. She was so cuddly, fluffy, and happy! And I just about stole her from the very kind owner. I’m so thankful for this couple who was just as excited about Remi as I was!

A couple other great moments was seeing a restaurant with awesome lights and asking them if we could come for pictures. They were very welcoming, and it created such a cool, moody vibe. Then, we found this pink, retro Volkswagon van that apparently just hangs out there in front of a matching pink store? Yes, we hit the jackpot indeed. I love these two and their goofy hearts! I am more than stoked for their wedding reception in December!

If you’re looking to get photos of you and your boo in the city, hit me up! I might just be a downtown girl now!
