Morgan and Blake had their dream Heritage Haus wedding this fall, and it lived up to all of the expectations. This venue became such a special place to these two. Morgan said she always dreamt about getting married in a chapel. She said she dreamed for years of the rustic and charming feel that the Heritage Haus wedding venue has. Morgan dreamt of the views, the chapel, the barn, and never thought it could actually exist somewhere. When her and Blake were dating, she came across this venue on social media and immediately started drooling! Then, Morgan talked about it for about a year, and Blake knew just how much she loved this place. So what did he do? He proposed to Morgan in that sweet little chapel she fell in love with!! He asked her to be his wife in the same place they would say their “I do’s”. How amazing is that?!
Texas weather is always unpredictable, and I feel like no matter what month you plan your wedding, you don’t know what you’re going to get. That is especially true for October. The week leading up to this wedding was sunny and in the 80’s, if I remember correctly! The day before, it was in the 40’s but then warmed up just enough for a perfect cloudy day. There were so many moments that stick out to me from this day. For one, I loved hanging out with the girls as they got ready and drank their Diet Cokes. Morgan’s first look with her dad was also the sweetest thing. You could tell he was prepping for this day for a long time, but it didn’t make it any less emotional for him. Morgan told me her favorite moment of the entire day was when they walked out of the chapel as husband and wife, and had a moment together MARRIED around the corner. I love that they had a moment like this between just them two!
I feel like ceremonies are really a time where I get to know what is important to my couples, and how they view marriage. Blake and Morgan take this commitment so seriously, and what I loved is seeing how their parents’ marriages really played a role in how they want their marriage to be. They got a bible handmade and printed with their names in it, and asked their parents to sign it during the ceremony. Morgan explained that they wanted Christ to be the center of their marriage, as they saw in the marriages their parents had. Morgan said this was the most emotional part of the day to her. I just love how intentional and purposeful they were in this whole process. What a beautiful way to start your lives together.
The sun decided to come out for the first time that day right as I was taking their portraits (thank you, universe!). There was a cute little airstream at Heritage Haus, and those are some of my favorite pictures (most likely because I am obsessed with airstreams). Morgan and Blake danced the night away with their friends and family! Earlier in the day, Morgan was a little stressed with small wedding details before the ceremony. All of that just melted away after she got to see Blake and marry him! It’s so easy to get caught up in the wedding planning, but remember what the day is all about! These two had a blast after they said their “I do’s”, and the rest of the evening was perfect.
If you or someone you know is engaged, I would love to chat about the big day!! Let’s talk!
