Jacksonville Couple Photos in the Rain | Jenny + Annelise

These Jacksonville Couple photos are so special to me for multiple reasons…

For real, these Jacksonville couple photos will always be some of my favorite work now. For one, they involve Jenny and Annelise. Now, I go way way way back with these two! As in Jenny was my boss at school when I was like…20 years old? And then again after that in the “professional” world. I’ve known both Jenny and Annelise for about six years, but I finally got to make the visit to see them in Florida for the first time since they moved over a year ago. And let me tell you, it was one spectacular weekend I got to spend with them. We played so many games (sorry, Jenny!). Game of Thrones Monopoly, Harry Potter Codenames, Settlers of Catan…and MORE. What can I say, I think playing games is my love language?

Since their move to Florida, Jenny has actually become a photographer. (You can check out her work here!) So somehow, we talk even more now than we did when we lived in the same town! She has done so much amazing work in just one year, it is absolutely incredible. The girl has got TALENT. Which made me feel that much more honored when she asked me to take photos of her and Annelise!

We started off the session in Jenny and Annelise’s home.

That’s probably reason number 2 why I love these couple photos in Jacksonville so much. I truly adore in home sessions. There are so many reasons to do them! There is probably no other place where you and your partner are more comfortable. The home you created together says so much about you, and I love getting to see couples in their natural habitat.

Another reason why I LOOOOVE these photos is because it RAINED.

Now, I’ll be honest…we were not excited about this at first. We were actually tracking the weather the whole weekend trying to find the right time where there was no rain in the forecast. We wanted SUN. Needless to say, we failed. Apparently, you can’t really predict Jacksonville weather when it comes to clouds and rain. Who knew?

But, I actually loved shooting in the rain. My camera equipment handled it like a champ, and it made it so much fun. I feel like it added a new level of emotion to the final photos. Wet hair, fresh green leaves, and big smiles. There’s nothing better!

Lastly, the love between these two is what made these Jacksonville couple photos the absolute best.

Even though I’ve known both Jenny and Annelise for a while, this was the first time I really got to spend an extended amount of time with them as a couple. The connection these two have is something truly special. They find so much joy in each other’s presence, whether it be going out for drinks or watching random food YouTube shows. They sacrifice for each other, build one another up, and find comfort in each other. Their love is so deep and gentle, and it was really something special to be around. We talked about all the things good and challenging over the course of the weekend, and it was so good getting to know them better, even after knowing them for so long.
