Okay everyone, Anna and Vance’s wedding in Midland, TX was for real one of my favorite days in this job ever! They had their ceremony in a gorgeous Catholic church, some drinks and fun times in a freaking awesome limo, and a kick-back, relaxing reception at La Hacienda Events Center. Now let me tell you all the reasons I loved capturing this wedding!
- The biggest reason of all — Anna and Vance themselves. These two are super cool (hi look at their style), but most of all they’re kind, inviting, accepting, and a heck of a lot of fun. As a photographer, I’m obviously in the service industry. I’m hired ultimately for the product of their wedding photos. But I put so much of MYSELF in my work, so it means the world when I’m seen and wanted for more than just that finished product. From the very beginning, Anna and Vance wanted me to be a part of their wedding. They said things like, “Enjoy yourself! We see you as a guest and want you to have fun!” They invited me to their limo to have drinks with them, they asked me multiple times if I needed anything (uh hi what???). I love making true friendships with my brides and grooms like I was invited to do with Anna and Vance. You guys are the best!
- The bridal party. Holy moly, these guys were a party for real. This bridal party had so much fun dancing, screaming at each other, and just living life to the fullest. They were hilarious and knew how to break it down and have a good time. You’ll be able to see that in the photos pretty easily!
- The culture! They had a Catholic ceremony with intricate details and traditions, and it was spoken entirely in Spanish. I LOVE being a part of different cultures and backgrounds, and it felt so personal. I will say I didn’t understand pretty much anything, but I absolutely loved it.
- The details of this wedding were absolutely gorgeous. The bouquet was absolutely breathtaking. The bride’s dress was stunning (HELLO LOOK AT THE BACK OF IT!), and nothing is more stylish than a colored groom’s suit with a floral tie. Everything tied together so well and I couldn’t have styled it better myself.
- And last, but not least, the emotions. There were so many feels in this wedding, mostly sprung by the parents. You can tell Anna and Vance care so deeply about those that raised them. There was such a unique and intimate bond Vance shared with his mother and Anna with her father. They were also both supported by their friends and other family members. You can tell that these two do not have to walk through their marriage alone. Rather, they have a bunch of people that will always support them and cheer for them throughout their journey. What a gift.
Take a look through these photos for just a glimpse of the experience their wedding day was. I was so honored to be a part of it! The vendor list will be at the bottom of the post.
