Weddings

I absolutely love photographing this styled wedding in Las Cruces, NM. There were so many amazing wedding venders that came from El Paso, TX and Las Cruces! I just want to share all the things I absolutely loved about my time shooting in New Mexico. For one, the adobe houses are so unique and special! Second, I LOVE the mountains so much. I get amazed every single time I see them. They weren’t necessarily present in this wedding shoot, but you’ll have to take my word for it. I got to meet amazing creatives and build friendships with all of these photographers that I look up to. The weather was also so nice! In early March it was warm and sunny in the day (my husband even got sunburnt, which I guess isn’t saying much), but the night gave a cool chill like the true desert it is. I could go on and on. New Mexico has always held a dear place in my heart because I spent a summer in Glorieta and experienced some of the best moments of my life. It was so cool going back in the area, and I want to continue exploring the beautiful Land of Enchantment!

As a photographer, things can get so busy and I absolutely love it! Wedding season is kind of always a thing, which I would never complain about. I care so much about giving the best experience to my clients, so in order to do that I have to take care of myself! To do things that will continue to light that spark in me and keep me inspired and trying new things. That is exactly why I participated in this styled wedding shoot! I got the chance to try new things, and see things a little differently that will then transfer to the weddings and couples I get to capture this year. With any job, you have to protect yourself from burnout or getting stuck. I got my Master’s in Counseling Psychology so I know ALL ABOUT burnout, which is why I make sure to keep myself excited about the work I do. To learn more, practice new things, travel new places, and make it FUN. It’s honestly not hard because I just take so much joy in capturing moments and making them come to life.

Brittany and Randy had such a wonderful connection to capture as they’ve been together for years! They were so serene and peaceful together, as well as goofy and fun. They gave me all the bohemian elopement vibes, and it was GLORIOUS. Also, can we please just talk about that Photo Bus? I see so many things in the weddings I capture and think, “Why did I not have that at my wedding?!” If you’re planning a wedding, do yourself a favor and get yourself a Photo Bus!
