Morgan Creek Barn Wedding in Dallas, TX

This Morgan Creek Barn Wedding was longed for, anticipated, and pushed back for months due to COVID.

But, once it was finally time, it was all worth the wait.

Rachel and Scott celebrated their wedding at the Morgan Creek Barn wedding venue in the Dallas, TX area in June, and it was absolutely perfect. They were supposed to have their wedding in April, but due to Covid-19, were forced to push it back. They didn’t want to stall their marriage, so they had a small gathering wedding in Austin that I got to photograph! It was a difficult year with rescheduling weddings and sessions. The silver lining is that I was given a lot of opportunity to work with my couples even more. Small elopements, phone calls, spontaneous sessions…it reminded me why I loved this job. I loved getting to drive to Austin in just a day’s notice to capture Rachel and Scott’s wedding. And it was even more exciting to celebrate with them for their larger gathering in June.

Rachel and Scott really planned a such a beautiful wedding.

It helped that it was a gorgeous, sunny day at the Morgan Creek Barn wedding venue.

But everything else blew it out of the water! I loved the dusty pink with the navy blue, and those colors popped so well against the neutral greens and floral. Rachel’s dress was a classic and timeless gown from Cedar Park Bridal. The day flowed seamlessly as Rachel and Scott chose to do a first look. This was the most emotional moment for Scott, where he got to see his wife in her wedding dress for the first time. It was so sweet!

The anticipation built up until it was finally time for Rachel to walk down the aisle. This is what comes to mind as the most emotional moment from the wedding for her. “It was all so real in that moment having my dad by my side, looking out to Scott waiting for me at the altar, wearing a white dress, flowers in hand, and all our family and friends surrounding us.”

“Getting married during a pandemic means altering a lot of plans and expectations, but that doesn’t mean your wedding will be any less beautiful.”

This is what Rachel said when I asked her if she had any advice for other couples after her wedding planning experience.

I just loved this statement so much, because it’s so true. 2020 was crazy, we’ve never seen wedding plans get shifted and changed due to outside circumstances so much. It impacted so many couples and business owners, but it required us all to focus on what is important. So Rachel’s advice was to just explore ALL of your options and enjoy the process! And of course, do it together!

It really was such an honor to capture this Morgan Creek Barn wedding. I loved getting to walk through navigating the changes and being there for them every step of the way. Rachel and Scott were such a sweet couple to work with, and are two new friends of mine. So thankful this job allowed me to meet them!

If you are planning a wedding, I’d love to chat! I’m here to tell your story, whatever that may look like.
