There are so many reasons why this shoot gave me all of the feels. But first, let’s start with the location. The Red Rock Canyon State Park was freaking GORGEOUS. These massive canyons with reds and oranges filled the place for miles. The contrast against the bright blue sky made me just fall head over heels in love. Obviously, I love warm colors. All of my editing is done in warmer tones, so the reds and oranges of the canyon felt so perfect for me.
Wendy and Johnny were so much fun to work with. Wendy is one of those people who get excited about pretty much everything. She was so happy to be there, to be back in her wedding clothes, to work with us photographers. There is seriously nothing that makes me more pumped than to have a bride who is equally as pumped! Her reaction to pretty much everything was, “OH MY GOSH, ARE YOU SERIOUS??” Haha, it was so freaking cute! It’s so simple, but Wendy’s attitude was so inspiring to me. How much better would life be if we treated everything with that kind of excitement and enthusiasm? Much better, I think! Also, can we just talk about how gorgeous Wendy looked?? Her makeup by Beauty By Bon Bon was INCREDIBLE.
Wendy and Johnny were also just so adorably in love. Funny story, they actually met in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. But they didn’t really know each other then. They met later on in adulthood when they started actually dating. How insane is that? Is anyone else interested in seeing those old yearbook photos, or is that just me?
These florals by White Oaks Florist were AMAZING, and created the perfect desert vibes for this shoot. It had so many different elements, and the pink and orange looked perfect with the canyon! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone more excited than when I told Wendy she could keep the bouquet after the shoot. It was the best!
All in all, this Red Rock Canyon elopement with Wendy and Johnny was a total dream. This is the first of many blogs I’m going to post from my time in California! I spent about 10 days with a couple of my favorite photographer friends, and we were shooting NON-STOP. There is so much more goodness coming!

Hi, are you available for an elopement on April 10? We love the elopement you did at red rock canyon.
Oops. Didn’t mean to leave a comment – thought this was your “contact me” form.
Hi, pictures are gorgeous! We do not live anywhere near the Red Rock Canyons but my daughter want to go to Vegas to be married, 2nd marriage for both and may kids between them. They’d like to do this on their own, no kids, parent, siblings in tow. How far out do you book? And the florist, do they work with you or is that something she would have to get on her own?
