These Sekrit Theater engagement photos are special for so many reasons.
It was so fun to capture these Sekrit Theater engagement photos in Austin, TX. Ariel and John were in Austin for one weekend, soon after John proposed. It was also right before John’s last deployment in his 20+ years of serving in the army. There was a sight feeling of dread I’m sure both of them were feeling as they knew they would have to spend many months apart. Both of them wanted to have these photos to look back on during those difficult months away from each other.
The Sekrit theater is an iconic, magical place in Austin.
It is definitely the sweetest, and most romantic spot to have engagement photos done in Austin, TX. In the summertime it is covered in gorgeous greenery all around, but we took these at the end of February where the glass windows stood out from the wintery and bare trees. No matter what season you visit the Sekrit Theater, it is a beautiful place to take your engagement photos. They danced and laughed as the light streamed in through the windows, and it was such a fun thing to capture.
We ended their engagement session with some fun at McKinney Falls State Park.
McKinney Falls is one of my other favorite spots to take engagement photos in Austin. It’s less of a romantic and sweet spot than Sekrit Theater, but more adventurous and fun! The jagged rocks and the waterfall creates such an exciting environment. Ariel and John really wanted to have the best of both feels, so this was the perfect combination of locations.
I’m so thankful these two chose me to capture such a huge time in their lives.
Not only being engaged, but facing one of the most challenging times their relationship will have to endure. I don’t take it lightly when my couples choose me for their memories. The entire time during this session, I envisioned Ariel and John on opposite sides of the world looking at these images to feel the connection between the two of them. That’s how seriously I take my job, and I will never not feel so honored to capture a love so special!
