This was my first time shooting at the Soda District Courtyard, and this venue did not disappoint. The stain glass windows, the red brick, the playful colors…It is such a remarkable space, and it fit Mallory and Bryan perfectly! When I asked Mallory why her and Bryan decided on the Soda District, she mentioned that it was simple and classy (like herself) on the inside, but fun and colorful on the outside (just like Bryan). So it truly was the best representation of who they are as a couple, and I just love that! They also got engaged there!!
Everyone gathered around in as much shade as they could, and believe me, people were SWEATING. Texas heat in July is a little brutal. But honestly, as soon as the ceremony actually started, everybody was just focused on the couple. Mallory couldn’t help but cry as she walked down the aisle to finally unite with her man as husband and wife. I just could just feel the overwhelming peace and excitement these two and their family and friends had for this day. When I asked Mallory about her favorite part from the day, she said it had to be the ceremony.
“It was such a powerful moment as I walked toward the person I so deeply adored and wanted to marry. I got to hold Bryan’s hand as I cried, laughed, and promised to love him forever and him promise all those things right back. Not to mention, we were so moved by all of those who suffered in the 100 degree head to support and celebrate us.”
Mallory and I have been friends for a couple of years now, so it was a day I’ve been anticipating our whole friendship. These two were so good to me, and they’re so deeply loved by their friends and family. It was the best celebration anyone could ask for. I am just beyond grateful to have gotten to capture this day for such an amazing couple like Mr. and Mrs. Rainwater!
If you are getting married, let’s set up a time to talk! I would love to hear what you are envisioning for your big day, and how I could capture it perfectly for you!
