Well, there are just no words to fully express how blown away I am by Abilene’s talent. So many of this town’s best creatives came together to truly shine for these bridals at The Acre Abilene. It was so fun getting to work with all of the many amazing vendors, and I’m so in love with the photos that came from this shoot. The whole goal for this shoot was to stay true to Texas roots, but with more style and creativity than your typical burlap, baby’s breath, and mason jars. Kendra Duke with Double Knot Weddings was the stylist, and she did an incredible job putting it all together!
I go to The Acre for engagement and couple’s shoots all the time, because it offers such a gorgeous landscape with so many different elements. You can have a whole field to yourselves to run around in or cuddle up on the porch with the cutest plants around you. It also offers such a great view of those Abilene sunsets we love so much. We had talented creatives in the area come for the invitation suite and table cards, the tastiest fresh food, tasty beer, gorgeous florals, honeybees, farm animals, and a stunning cake.
Hannah and Ryan were the perfect couple for this shoot. I got to work with Hannah for a year, and saw just a little glimpse of a truly loving and selfless relationship. When someone commented on how in love they looked, Hannah replied, “That’s because it’s real!” They fully know and embrace each other, put each other first every day, and it shows when you’re with them. They started off their relationship long distance, writing letters to one another. To this day, Ryan still writes a letter for Hannah every morning (YES, THAT IS REAL). I guarantee you’ll see just how much they care for each other through these photos, because that is ALL I was seeing when I was editing. I’m so grateful to know them, and that much more happy I got to shoot them (like with my camera).
There are definitely times where I wonder what the heck I am still doing in Abilene (came here for college and never left haha). This evening was such a good reminder about what a wonderful place this is with even better people. If you are planning a wedding in Abilene, I promise you that it can be an AMAZING DREAM wedding. All of the vendors will be listed at the bottom of this post. Reach out to me, because I’d love to capture your day!
