The Mill Winery has been one of my favorite places in Abilene ever since it started up. I’ve had great laughs with friends there, amazing food and drinks, and my husband of two years got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife in this special place. Needless to say, I was so excited to photograph Macy and Chandler’s wedding at the Mill. It was a super hot day in July, but not terrible since it didn’t break 100 degrees, and the sky was beautiful and clear with a couple of white fluffy clouds. There was a sense of peace over the entire place as Marcy and Chandler got ready to start their lives together as husband and wife.

I don’t know if I’ve every been a part of a wedding with this much calmness poured over everyone. There was such a strong feeling of stillness and assurance in how the day was going to unfold. No one seemed stressed — just laid back and ecstatic all at once. Not only can you tell how much Macy and Chandler love each other, you can’t help but feel how much they are loved by their family and friends as well. Chandler and his buddies were joking around and having fun, all while bearing the West Texas heat with me. The girls were completely astonished at what a beautiful bride Macy turned out to be, and she was loved so well by everyone in anticipation of the big ceremony. She was covered in prayer, tears, and excitement, and I was so honored to be a part of this intimate day.

Then, as the ceremony began and Chandler and Macy stated their vows to each other, the peace and calm turned into utter joy. You can see it in their faces, their body language…these two were completely over-the-moon happy to finally be married. They find rest and comfort in each other, leaving every one around them feeling the same way. The evening ended with sweet toasts, intimate dances, and pure celebration of the beautiful union that was created. Macy and Chandler, thank you so much for entrusting me to capture one of the best days of your lives. I’m so excited for you two!
