Waimea Canyon Elopement | Kauai, Hawaii | Anna + Luan

This elopement at the Waimea Canyon in Kauai, HI was EVERYTHING. I was in Kauai for a workshop, Wild & Unwritten, so just get ready for several blog posts from my time there. But I’m excited this is my first one from the workshop! Anna and Luan are the cutest couple and basically just couldn’t stop making out all evening. The sky was so clear, and the sun was so bright. It created so many different lighting scenarios at the canyon, which was so fun for me to play around with. I’m so inspired by the sun and the different feelings it can create in photographs. With the sun setting behind the couple, it creates this gorgeous romantic and dreamy feel. And then when Sarah and Luan faced the sun, the direct sunlight made it feel so dramatic and a little moody, which only emphasized the vastness of the canyon. And then finally as the sun started to set, you could make out the shape of the sun. That last light created my favorite pictures from the evening.

Anna and Luan were so fun to shoot with, and we all had such a blast with them. I’m sure having a bunch of photographers sticking their big cameras in your faces could be intimidating, but they were so goofy and carefree! You could tell they have such a sweet connection and none of our clickings could distract them from one another.

I’m so grateful for the experience of Wild and Unwritten. I had the opportunity to step out in a gorgeous landscape and expand my creativity, I got the chance to meet awesome female photographers, and all the learning and application was more than I could have ever wanted. I will always invest in my business to make sure I don’t burn out, to continually grow and become more and more inspired. I’m just so thankful and can’t wait to show you guys more! So many amazing people made this elopement come to life, and all the vendors are included at the bottom of this post!
